I walk early in the morning, straight out of bed, into my walking clothes and out the door. It’s the one time of the day I have to myself, living in a busy household, it’s a time to think, ponder, plan, and ease the creaks in my back from the previous day in the studio. 100m away there’s a steep climb that warms me up and gets my heart thumping. At the top of the hill, catching my breath, I take a photo. What began as a visual tally of this achievement, Colour Palette of the Morning Sky has become a testament to daily and seasonal changes.
This work is on show at Mundaring Arts Centre until 3 April 2022, in my collaborative exhibition with Anne Williams, It’s a Matter of How You Look at Things.
